Tony Scarfone Study Abroad Scholarship
This scholarship has been created to continue Anthony Scarfone’s legacy and passion for foreign languages, international cultures, and world history. As an educator, Tony’s kind, humorous, and patient disposition inspired many students to learn a foreign language and to achieve their dreams in traveling and studying overseas. He spent much of his life educating others
in European languages and cultures and was a great role model, always captivating his audience by his interests across genres — from the natural beauty of each country to the semantics of its language.
Born in Reggio Calabria, Italy and immigrating to America as a young boy, Tony never ceased his devotion to his family, their Italian heritage, and unique love for education. He was particularly fond of his students and is cherished by many as the strength, support, and encouragement behind their academic success.
As a part of Tony’s legacy, this scholarship is eligible to any student enrolled in the OCC study abroad program for the upcomi summer.
