Sue Brown Memorial Scholarship
Sue started her career at OCC (1964-1995) in the Physical Education Department as an instructor and a coach. She later became Dean of the Physical and Athletic Division. As a member and chair of the California Commission on Athletics, she played an indispensable role in the statewide movement to implement Title IX – the 1972 landmark federal legislation that bans sex discrimination in education programs. In her last assignment at OCC, she served as the Dean of Admissions and Records where she was instrumental in the growth and development of the International Student Program. Sue strongly believed in higher education being available for all.
