John M. Nashu Scholarship

John was a great man of many talents and accomplishments. He triumphed over huge personal and business challenges in the course of his life. In 1988, John embarked on his final and most pleasurable journey when he decided to escape the boredom of retirement and pursue his passion for history at Orange Coast College. A very bright and inquisitive person, John made many close friends among the much younger student body, as he provided invaluable feedback about the real life challenges in today’s business environment. After he completed his AA degree at OCC in 1990, he and his wife moved to Seattle, Washington, where he graduated magna cum laude with a bachelors degree in history from the University of Washington in June 1994.
