H.O.P.E. Club Scholarship

The H.O.P.E scholarship was created by a small group of students (11) who organized a club that they named H.O.P.E (Hispanics Organized to Promote Education). They want to make a difference by helping themselves at Orange Coast College, and by working with Estancia High School students who want to transfer to OCC. H.O.P.E helps the Club members and Estancia students in their academic endeavors. At OCC, they support each other sharing their books and notes, and tutoring students that need the extra help. They also share their college experience with Estancia students. Considering the financial needs that they all confront, these students raised funds by organizing events and getting the support of the community. They established a $500 scholarship to benefit one of them, thus contributing to the achievement of his/her academic goals. A successful group on the road to graduate, they proudly say YES, WE CAN!
