Desi Student Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students whose family backgrounds originated in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, or other countries of this region in Asia. The goal of this scholarship to assist them in furthering their education.

This scholarship was established by Vinta Marie Oviatt, a librarian and professor at Orange Coast College and advisor to this student club from 2008 to the present. Vinta fondly remembers her childhood years in India as the daughter of missionary teachers and her many travels as a child throughout this region of the world.
